Music in the classroom 🎶🎵
Music...who doesn't like music? Music can be used in multiple different
ways in the classroom:
To create discussion of attitudes and feelings, to encourage creativity and
use of imagination, to provide a relaxed classroom atmosphere, to bring
variety and fun to learning.
We can play some piece of music and ask our students what sort of emotions they
evoke. You can ask students to imagine a person who likes/doesn't like this
music and describe them.

Poetry for kids
Can you read this poem?
Carol Ann Duffy, Britain’s Poet Laureate, compared poetry to text messaging. According to Duffy, “The poem is a form of texting…it’s the original text…"
Do you agree? Are you good at texting, too?
The teacher can divide the class in groups. Each group works with a verse and write the "original text" focusing on correctly spelt words.
They could create a new verse for the poem or add an extra verse. They might even create their own poems!
